Paramedics are refusing to be forced to work alone.

It follows a string of attacks on single-responders by drunk or volatile patients.

Health Services Union secretary Gerard Hayes tells Ben Fordham there are two key reasons why paramedics should not work on their own.

“Having a second paramedic on a vehicle ensures safety and protection.

“The other important part is the community will be treated in their home or workplace.”
