‘Own up’ – Federal Government caught hiding papers from Bondi Royal Commission
Shadow Home Affairs Minister Jonno Duniam has urged the federal government to own up to its mistake and release documents it kept from the Bondi Royal Commission.
He’s told Clinton Maynard that if top secret agencies like ASIO are happy to open their books to help the Commission, the government should do the same.
“The problem is it’s not just about keeping it secret from the public … if it can’t be used in the Royal Commission in its deliberations, how can we say we’ve actually had a proper look at everything with regard to decision making,” he said.
