A council meeting to discuss a significant 25 per cent rate increase in the Northern Beaches took a turn last night.

Former Northern Beaches councillor Michael Grencher claims a Greens councillor took the opportunity to put forward “propaganda dressed up as local governance”.

“We’ve seen this across councils across New South Wales where … Greens councillors hijack the chambers to push a toxic, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic agenda that has absolutely nothing to do with local issues,” he said.

2GB Mornings host Mark Levy questioned what the events in Palestine had to do with local issues in the Northern Beaches.
