‘Organised violence’: UFC star makes vile comments ahead of Sydney bout

Article image for ‘Organised violence’: UFC star makes vile comments ahead of Sydney bout

John Stanley has hit out at cage fighting and the UFC, saying that it is not a sport and is instead “just organised violence“.

The comments come after a controversial press conference featuring star fighter Sean Strickland. In the conference, the fighter said that women did not need to work, instead they should “stay home and raise the family”.

Sydney is hosting a UFC, after a “strange” promise during the NSW state election. State Premier Chris Minns today called the comments “appauling“, but that the sport should not be tarnished by just one competitor.
