‘Odds stacked against NO’: Jacinta Price voices concern over ballot confusion

Chris O'Keefe

Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price voiced concern over the ballot box controversy, which she feels is part of the odds being “stacked against” the ‘No’ vote for The Voice.

Speaking after the media storm surrounding “X” not being a valid vote during the referendum, Price told Chris O’Keefe it feels as though it’s part of a way to hamper the ‘No’ campaign. However, “X” has not been a valid answer on ballot paper in either of the past two referendums.

“Deeply concerning […] the odds are being stacked against those who support the no vote from mainstream media through to the AEC now”, she told Drive.

The Australian Electoral Commission has urged voters to simply vote by writing “YES” or “NO”, as dictated to them on the ballot paper.
