Treasurer Matt Kean has rejected suggestions farmers should be concerned about a new fake meat plant in Alexandria.

The NSW government has invested in the company that is creating flavours that include kangaroo, goat, water buffalo and alpaca. 

Mr Kean told Ben Fordham the products will be sold overseas as they remain outlawed in Australia.

“Our farmers, our meat, our agriculture are best in the world.

“This is an entirely different product … it’s there to compliment the work of our farmers.”
