NSW pharmacists given new powers to ease pressure on GP’s
Anyone heading overseas these Christmas holidays is being encouraged to get their travel vaccines from a pharmacist.
From today, pharmacists can administer a range of jabs in an effort to ease pressure on GP’s.
It comes as GPs face growing staff shortages and patients are reportedly waiting days for an appointment.
Pharmacy Guild NSW branch president David Heffernan told Joe Hildebrand it’s good news for patients.
“We know that waiting times are currently astronomical, pharmacists have experienced this, so this will be a big help.”
