First home buyers could be spared paying stamp duty if Labor is elected to lead the state in March.

The opposition is promising to remove the tax for those buying a property worth up to $800,000, and to discount people paying up to $1 million.

NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns told Chris O’Keefe the plan would help 95 per cent of first home buyers.

“This will literally help tens of thousands of first home buyers, many of who are struggling to get on the property ladder.”
