NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell says details about an online group chat involving senior students from a private boys’ school are “disturbing”.

Police are making inquiries and working with Knox Grammar.

More than 150 people were exchanging racist, homophobic, and violent content but police say it did not contain child abuse material.

Senior students have been suspended or have left the school after posting vile and disturbing imagery and commentary in a private online chatroom on Discord.

Ms Mitchell told Ben Fordham the behaviour is “unacceptable”.

“I’ve spoken to the Head of the Independent Schools about this.

“I want to be kept up to date in relation to the investigation that is happening at the school.”
