Transport Minister and Bega MP Andrew Constance is quitting the NSW parliament to run for the federal seat of Gilmore, prompting criticism from Jim Wilson.

Mr Constance has a history of “playing silly buggers” with federal politics, Jim said, after briefly putting his hand up for Eden-Monaro.

Jim also called out the Transport Minister’s less than impressive track record in his portfolio: “dodgy ferries, excessive tolls, and compulsory land acquisition … that’s ripping off Sydneysiders”.

“He’s wiped his hands of the whole lot.

“For him to suddenly walk away from his electorate in the middle of a pandemic, simply to try to further himself … [is] a bad look and a real letdown.

“The people of Bega and the people of NSW certainly deserved so much better.”
