Andrew Abdo confirms overseas option for future Magic Rounds

Continuous Call Team

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has confirmed New Zealand is an option to host Magic Round in the future.

It’s been an outstanding start to the fourth edition of Magic Round in Brisbane so far this weekend.

Host of The Continuous Call Team Mark Levy said “it would work where ever you take it but I don’t think it would work to this scale.”

Magic Round will be held in Brisbane next year, but Abdo told The Continuous Call Team New Zealand will be considered for beyond 2024.

“Why wouldn’t we consider putting more content in New Zealand whether it’s Magic Round or something else,” Abdo said.

“That’s why it was important to take the All Stars there for the first time.

“So Magic Round’s an option but so too is perhaps thinking about Test matches or the end of the season internationals.”
