A fast rail linking Newcastle to Wollongong through Sydney could form part of a new ‘mega region’ revitalisation.

It forms part of the Committee for Sydney’s 10-point wishlist for the newly-minted Greater Cities Commission, created for better planning collaboration between Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.

Committee for Sydney Deputy CEO Ehssan Veiszadeh told Joe Hildebrand he’s hopeful there’s a chance a fast rail will finally become a reality.

“This is not a pipedream, it’s possible.”
