A northern beaches swim school has been ordered to shut after noise complaints were made to the council.

Northern Beaches Council ordered the Barrenjoey Swim School to stop running.

“The nature of the noise emanating from the swim school is typically voices of children and instructors splashing from within the pool and also parents chatting from outside the pool,” the council stated.

Barrenjoey Swim School owner Damien Geyle told Ben Fordham the council has ordered them to close in 85 days over one complaint.

“We just hope the council would have a look at the situation and not just put it in the ‘too hard basket’.”
