New push to give op shop mugs a second life in local Sydney cafes
There’s a fresh push to ban single-use plastic or paper cups in Sydney cafes and instead use second-hand op shop coffee mugs to cut down on waste.
It is currently already happening in Western Australia and from January 1 next year, single-use coffee cups will be banned.
CEO of Our Kinds reusable coffee cups scheme Hamish Cockburn told Jim Wilson that customers are loving the idea.
Customers who don’t have a cup can purchase at the store.
