Sussan Ley has reflected on being elected deputy leader and intends to review its policies regarding women.

Both Mr Dutton and Ms Ley were elected unopposed for their positions.

Ms Ley told Deborah Knight, now was the right time to step up and pursue the role.

“I woke up energised and feeling it was time … to step up and be part of the future,” she said.

“My focus on women issues over many many years was part of this.

“We need the unvarnished truth about what people are unhappy with.”
