Nationals candidate under fire for bizarre Facebook post

Article image for Nationals candidate under fire for bizarre Facebook post

The Nationals candidate for Orange is reportedly in hot water after putting an embarrassing post up on social media.

21-year-old Yvette Quinn won preselection for the seat of Orange this year, a seat currently held by Shooters MP Phil Donato.

In a since-deleted Facebook post, Yvette is dressed in a pixie outfit and encourages the public to “come and find me perched up a tree”.

“Remember this is the Nationals party candidate for Orange, not the Greens candidate for Glebe,” Ben Fordham says.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro’s office says they did not order for the post to be taken down.

“John Barilaro did say back in June, ‘I have confidence in Yvette and she’ll put us in good stead to win back Orange’.

“I wonder whether John Baraliano feels the same way as he did back in June,” Ben says.

“If you’re looking to have a chat with your candidate, John, you’ll find her up a tree, reading a book, dressed as a pixie.”
