Mums and Dads spending a full day’s work behind the wheel to taxi busy kids

Mums and Dads across the country may need to change their job title to “taxi driver”.
Research from insurer Allianz reports around two-thirds of parents are spending eight hours a week behind the wheel, ferrying their kids to and from activities.
One Sydney mother has smashed that average out of the ballpark, telling Ben Fordham she’s spending up to 18 hours a week driving her two kids around.
“It’s a lot, isn’t it,” Maria says.
When asked how she juggles it all, Maria admits it’s a team effort.
“I have a very supportive husband. We do share a lot of the load in terms of school drop-offs and kindy drop-offs.”
Maria says the load is intense, but she wouldn’t change a thing.
“I do it for the love of my kids though.”
