Mum pleads for harsher bail laws against her own son
A mum is calling for harsher bail laws after her son committed multiple crimes while free in the community.
Mary’s* son George* has been sentenced twice for attacks on family members and is the subject of more than half a dozen AVOs.
He had been granted bail after allegedly bashing his girlfriend last year at which time he allegedly re-offended.
Mary is requesting a meeting with the NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman to prevent people like her son from re-offending.
“He should not have been walking the streets free,” she told Ben Fordham.
“Mr Speakman, please, please you need to ensure that repeat violent offenders are not given the opportunity to walk the streets out on bail.”
