The bodies of a mother and child have been found dead on the Central Coast, in an apparent murder-suicide.

The home on Kilpa Road at Wyongah remains taped off with police guarding the scene following yesterday’s grim discovery.

The bodies of a 47-year-old woman and her nine-year-old son were found inside the property just before 2pm.

Police are investigating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide and have confirmed they’re not looking for any other parties.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

The boy’s school principal has released a statement, saying his heartfelt thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.
