Figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has shown the unemployment rate has remained at 4.2 per cent in January not changing since the same figures were released in December 2021.

Minister for Finance Simon Birmingham has told Jim Wilson, “4.2 itself is pretty remarkable”.

He said the rates after COVID “Is a pretty phenomenal outcome”.

The number is the lowest recorded rate in 13 years.
