A NSW Minister is committing to adding a line of warning buoys to Penrith Weir after a number of tragedies.

Days after mother of two, Emily, died on Australia Day, another group of boaters were involved in a near-tragedy on the Nepean River in Penrith.

NSW Lands and Water Minister Kevin Anderson told Ben Fordham temporary buoys were added last night after permanent marker buoys were damaged about a year ago.

“I’m pretty cranky at the fact that it took so long to get them back there.

“We’ll have those discussions about a permanent line of marker buoys that will stretch the length of the river.”

Emily’s mother, Bev, called in after hearing the Minister’s call.

She tells Ben she’s “angry”.

“They are taking on a fighter.”
