‘Minimum sentences’: Dutton’s plea for released stateless criminals

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has told Ray Hadley that he believes there should be “mandatory minimum sentences” for some of the asylum seeker detainees released from indefinite detention following the recent High Court decision.

“I think there should be mandatory minimum sentences for some of these murderers, rapists and paedophiles who don’t meet the conditions… the Albanese government won’t support any of that,” he said.
