Heartbreaking stories have been coming out of the north coast but there are some hopeful ones.

Tweed Heads pharmacist Skye Swift took to social media to ask for help to get to her chemist.

She told Ben Fordham three-time world surfing champion Mick Fanning came to her rescue.

“I didn’t know he was coming but … the jet ski turned up and Mick was there!”
