The federal government is poised to sell off a number of Australia’s most historic defence sites following a report published in 2023.

It’s left Michael McLaren to wonder why the government has sat on the report for more than two years.

“I know it’s not everything, but especially in institutions like the Defence Force, tradition matters,” he said.

He’s also questioned one of the reasons provided in the justification for the planned divestiture.
