Michael McLaren has questioned Prime Minister Albanese’s praise of outgoing ACTU leaders Sally McManus and Michele O’Neil.

Sally McManus and Michele O’Neil have announced they will step down as ACTU leaders after leading the organisation for over a decade.

“Didn’t we not endure a record-breaking run of seven consecutive quarters of per capita recession?” McLaren said on 2GB Afternoons. 

“No matter what spin McManus and O’Neill might try to put on it, history I don’t think is going to look so kindly on the custodianship of the union movement and its interaction with government.”
