NSW Fire and Rescue have been able to save a families pet rabbit after the house caught on fire in Sydney’s West.

The blaze engulfed the home around 2:45 pm yesterday afternoon at Lethbridge Park.

The family of two adults and five children were able to escape but unfortunately were forced to leave their pets behind.

Search and Rescue firefighters entered the blazing home and saved the family’s pets, including ‘Melly’ the rabbit.

Superintendent Scott Dodson told Jim Wilson, “Our firefighters are prepared for anything”.

“Every life is important.”
