Former Australian Test cricketer Dean Jones has criticised the state of the MCG pitch.

Speaking during the rain delay of Wednesday night’s BBL match at the Gabba, Deano said fans left early due to the lack of action in the middle.

“These drop in pitches don’t break up,” he said.

“We had nearly 90,000 (on Boxing Day) and half of them left by tea.”
