Thankful4Farmers and the NSW government have teamed up to encourage city residents to buy from regional retailers.

The ‘Buy Regional’ website is a one-stop-shop for food, fashion and crafts made by local businesses.

Matt Moran, Thankful4Farmers ambassador, tells Steve Price, “What we’re trying to do is get people – city folk, mainly – to get out bush a little bit and support the towns.

“We all know the farmers struggle, and then as soon as they don’t have any money, they can’t spend any money in town, and the whole town ends up struggling.”

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro tells Ben Fordham he encourages everyone to have a look at what the regions have to offer.

“For anyone that wants to support regional businesses the best gift you can give any drought-stricken region is to buy regional.”
