Australian cricket legend Mark Taylor says Tim Paine should be in the next Test side to face England. 

Paine was forced to resign after lewd text messages he sent a former employee of Cricket Tasmania were made public.

But Mark Taylor says he should play.

“I think he can play, yes, it will be tough though,” he said on the Wide World of Sports.

“But I think Tim has shown over the last three-and-a-half years that he is a resilient character, there’s no doubt about that.

“This has sort of been hanging over him as Australian captain for three-and-a-half years, and he’s been able to perform, and perform very well.

“He’s developed as a person and as a character, and his culture I think has improved obviously from the man that came back into the Australian side back in November of 2017.

“He’s developed as a person.”
