Mark Latham: What Malcolm Turnbull can learn during his trip to the US

The Outsider Mark Latham says Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull could learn from US President Donald Trump during his visit to the White House this week.

He tells Ben Fordham the PM will be looking forward to a “Barnaby-free trip” and could learn a thing or two from Mr Trump.

“[Mr Turnbull] should have a talk to Donald Trump to learn about abolishing regulation, lowering all sorts of taxes to kickstart the Australian economy just as Trump has done,” he says.

Mark also discusses the mounting pressure on Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce to resign, saying the saga has been a disaster for the Nationals.

“He’s hanging in mainly for the reason there seems to be no logical alternative in the lower house,” he says.

“It’s hurting the Liberal party as well, anyone who is socially conservative in this country has to deal with the reality we have a Deputy Prime Minister who not only cheated on his wife he cheated on the taxpayer.”
