Extra police are being deployed in Sydney’s west as detectives try to find a man wanted over what they are describing as “opportunistic” break-ins.

In one instance a woman in her 80s woke to find a man armed with a knife who attempted to sexually assault her, another resident of a similar age was indecently assaulted when confront an intruder.
