Man undergoes surgery after being bashed by woman with stick
A woman has been arrested after attacking a man with a stick in Sydney’s inner suburbs and putting him in hospital.
The 23-year-old was walking on Raglan Street at Waterloo at about 4pm on Thursday when a group of people started yelling at him.
A woman allegedly approached, armed with a stick, and hit the man in the head before pushing him.
He suffered a gash above his right eye and the attack was only stopped when a member of the public intervened.
The man was taken to the Sydney Eye Hospital for treatment and will undergo surgery.
Police found the woman later on and have now charged her with intent to cause Grievous Bodily Harm.
She’s been refused bail and will face court today.
The motive for the attack is unclear at this stage.
