A man is lucky to be alive after being shot in the head by his own father in Sydney’s south-west on Monday.

Emergency services were called to a home in Gurley Place at Bonnyrigg just after 5.30pm, finding a 32-year-old man in a serious condition.

He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital, while his 65-year-old father was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

He’s been charged with shoot with intent to murder, attempted murder and a number of firearm and domestic-violence related offences.

He’s been refused bail to appear in court today.
