A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, who was pulled from the water at Bondi Beach has died.

Paramedics were called to the southern end of Bondi Beach just before 12pm today, following reports a man was floating face down in the water.

Three crews attended the scene and a medical rescue helicopter was called.

After the man was pulled to shore, emergency services immediately began performing CPR.

Crews managed to revive the man and he was transported to St Vincents Hospital in a critical condition.

He has since died.

It’s believed the man, who wasn’t wearing a life jacket, was rock fishing before being swept into the water.
