Police are investigating the reported abduction of a man who was found shot in Sydney’s south.

Around midnight last night police were called to Cooper Road, Yagoona, due to reports a man has been assaulted and forced into a car.

Shortly after, emergency services found the man in Carlton with gunshot wounds.

The 28-year-old has been taken to hospital for surgery.

A car was found on fire nearby, with police now investigating whether the incidents are linked.
