Victorian Police have made an arrest over the disappearance of missing campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay.

The pair went missing from the Victorian High Country in March 2020.

Campers found Russell’s vehicle with signs of minor fire damage at their campsite, which was completely destroyed by fire, near Dry River Creek Track in the Wonnangatta Valley.

Police arrested a 55-year-old man from the west Melbourne suburb of Caroline Springs at about 5.30pm yesterday in relation to the disappearance of the pair.

He is currently being interviewed by police, and no charges have been laid.
