A man has been arrested and a number of people have been injured when a car collided with security barriers outside the Houses of Parliament in London.

Two people have been treated at the scene and taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The London Counter-Terrorism Command is investigating the incident.

The incident occurred just after 7.30am Tuesday (local time).
