The makers of Sorbent toilet paper are warning prices may increase as they face a 290 per cent rise in their gas bill.

Solaris Paper employs more than 300 workers across Sydney and Melbourne. 

CEO Steve Nicholson told Ben Fordham “this is a real crisis looming”.

“We’re one of the largest producers in this country of toilet paper so it is a tremendous challenge for us.”

While a price rise for consumers is the “last resort” for the company, there may be no avoiding it.

“We don’t want to pass on these costs but we’re going to have to … we can’t absorb these costs.”
