Major shakeup is in store for one of the world’s greatest bands

Fleetwood Mac’s songwriter, guitarist and singer Lindsey Buckingham has reportedly been fired from the iconic band.

His replacement? None other than former Crowded House frontman Neil Finn.

Veteran music journalist Glenn A Baker tells Chris Smith the move has ruffled some feathers.

“I don’t think anybody saw it coming. Then again, it makes a certain sort of sense.

“The guitar seat in Fleetwood Mac from the 60s has always been a fairly fluid position.

“Neil fits perfectly. He’s hugely regarded.”

Neil isn’t the only one joining the iconic group, with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ lead guitarist Mike Campbell making his mark too.

“I wouldn’t have picked it, you wouldn’t have picked it… but you’re sitting here going, I’m looking forward to the tour.”
