‘Made in good faith’ – Louise Clegg calls for sex discrimination act to be reviewed
Louise Clegg has weighed in on the divisive landmark ruling of the Giggle v Tickle case, calling for a 2013 change to the sex discrimination act to be reviewed.
The former barrister has told Michael McLaren that there is an ongoing dispute in Australia about competing rights between trans and biological women.
“It’s my assessment that the law, that was made in good faith in 2013 now, needs to be looked at again, not to remove the basic right of non-discrimination … but it has to be balanced out with the rights of women, biological women, to maintain safe spaces,” she said.
