2GB Afternoons host Michael McLaren had his say on the Coalition’s proposal to ban the burning of the Australian flag.

Under a Coalition proposal set to go to Parliament, people who burn the Australian flag could face a maximum jail term of 12 months with Opposition Leader Angus Taylor saying, “We need to stand up for Australia”.

“To make it a criminal offence, whilst popular and no doubt a vote winner, I think it’s pretty low-hanging fruit in the scheme of things.” McLaren said.
