‘Long road ahead’: NSW Premier says ‘recovery’ is the key focus as wild weather continues

New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet is currently touring the state as concern rises amid wild weather concerns.

Travelling through the Northern Rivers region, Mr Perrottet told Jim Wilson the spirits remain high despite the devastation.

“The community is all coming together to get everyone through.

“It’s devastating when you see it first hand.”

The Premier raised concern on the consequences of the floods saying “the recovery… it’s going to be a mammoth effort”.

Ensuring people get into temporary accommodation due to the fragility of human life he said “the key focus for us is keeping people safe”.

“Where there are gaps, we need them filled quickly.”
