Locals to be bypassed in governments potential new planning laws

The NSW government is considering dramatic new planning laws that disregard local opinion.

Although no new laws have been finalised, the proposed changes mean that neighbours and councils have a minuscule opportunity to object.

Even then, “the opposition and objections will be almost extinguished under these laws,” Chris said.

This new default planning approval feels more like a “tick and flick exercise,” he admitted.

“It’s certain to get painful.”
