Local council’s push for cat containment legislation

Article image for Local council’s push for cat containment legislation

Hornsby Council is raising a “serious issue” related to cats.

The council is campaigning for new legislation to keep pet cats at home as well as scrapping red tape around the euthanization of feral felines.

Hornsby Council Mayor Philip Ruddock told Jim Wilson there are not the same provisions for cats like there is for a dog.

“We want the NSW local government association to bring all the councils together concerned about this matter.”
