The mayor of Liverpool has described a 30km/h speed limit trial in Liverpool’s CBD as “insane”.

Transport for New South Wales has been running the trial, which has reduced speed limits from 50km/h and 40km/h, for two years.

Ned Mannoun told Ben Fordham it was an insane, sneaky plan which was being pushed by radicals.

“The Labor Party in Liverpool is full of left-wing extremists who are pushing this agenda.

“This has nothing to do with safety.”
