2GB listeners have voiced their struggles amid the pressures of the cost of living.

A new survey shows 1 in 4 Australians are struggling with the rising cost of living.

Listener Deb contacted Ben Fordham Live and wrote: “I’m not proud to say this – but getting a food parcel from my local charity brings tears to my eyes.

“I can’t ring you because I wouldn’t be able to speak. It would be tears all the way.”

Deb joins a raft of listeners in the same boat.

“These people are not in the minority,” Ben said.

“It’s a growing majority of Australians who can’t afford daily life.”
