Listener steps in after $1000 is stolen from local church
A heartless robbery has occurred at a local church in Sydney’s northern suburbs over the weekend.
A priest at St Mary’s Catholic Church in North Sydney says around $1000 of donated money has been pilfered.
The money was taken from secure draws in the parish offices, located just across the car park from the church.
“It must have happened some time after Friday afternoon and some time before Monday morning,” St Mary’s youth minister Michael Paton tells Ben Fordham.
“We don’t know when it could have been.
“They managed to get all the doors unlocked and leave no trace.”
Mr Paton says the donated funds would have been used by the church to further “the good works that we do in the church”.
Police are investigating the incident.
