A Lismore hotelier has had to fight of hasslers from Booking.com calling for booking fees after their motel was destroyed by floods.

John and Annabelle Jenkins bought their Lismore motel in November 2020 and last week they found themselves on the roof of their motel with 24 of their guests surrounded by water.

They have been hounded for a $36 dollar booking fee after trying to come to terms with the disaster.

“How about you waive your booking fees to all flood-affected tourism operators to do your bit to help?” Jim Wilson said.

John Jenkins told Jim, “the people that ring just chase money”.
