Lismore flood victim Kayla Youngberry has described her family’s fight for survival to Jim Wilson amid torrential rain and destructive weather.

Kayla and her husband as well as their 8-year-old daughter and dog climbed on top of their roofs as floodwaters rose.

They were rescued by locals in a boat, and now unfortunately have nothing left.

Kayla told Jim “I’ve never experienced that in my life”.

“I’m going to have to call my boss and sort out how much leave I have, as I’ve got to sort my house out.”
