What former Greens leader Bob Brown really thinks of Lidia Thorpe

Former Federal Greens leader Bob Brown has weighed in on the impact of controversial figure Lidia Thorpe on the Greens and her role in Australian politics.

Bob told Deborah Knight that he initially hoped Thorpe would be a strong spokesperson for Indigenous Australia but feels she has chosen the wrong path.

He acknowledged her powerful political voice, which would be missed if she were to leave the political arena. “She needs to make that stand for Indigenous Australians in a way which is going to make Australians say ‘Yes go for it, Lidia’ instead of, oh, no, not again!”

Bob Brown’s new film ‘The Giants’ is in cinemas on April 20.
